Pick a drawing scale before anything else: one square to two inches puts a four by eight foot bench on a Ledger sheet as 48 squares by 24, and an 18 inch radius becomes 9 squares. From there the plan is arithmetic. A turnback curve needs 2R plus clearance, so it sets the bench width. A frog number is a slope of one in six, and a yard ladder costs six squares for every track it adds. A grade is rise divided by grade, which is 25 squares for every inch climbed at two percent.

Year in Pixels for 2027

Twelve columns, 31 rows and one square a day: a year in pixels is the tracker that shows a whole year at once. Print 0.3 inch squares on Letter or 8 mm on A4, cross out the seven dates that do not exist, and color five key swatches in one ordered scale before January 1. By December, a season, a hard week and a good summer all show up as color.

Paper Snowflakes on Polar Graph Paper

Six is not a power of two, so no amount of halving a square will produce a six-armed snowflake. Print polar paper with 12 radials instead: cut the circle on the outer ring, fold on four printed lines to twelve layers, and draw one wedge 30 degrees wide. The rings turn the pattern into numbers, and a path traced back to the center is what tells you the flake will hold together.

Gingerbread House Templates on Graph Paper

Draw the house at actual size on quarter inch squares and the sheet is the template. Pick a rise and a half span whose sloping edge is a whole number of squares, take the roof panel width from that edge rather than from the wall below it, trim the pair of walls that tucks between the other pair, and lay the six pieces out on a plan of your own baking sheet before you roll anything.

Plot the pairs, join them in order, and a picture appears.
